Increasing the maximum validity period of visas to Russia up to six months will have a positive impact on the foreign tourist flow, said the Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Maya Lomidze. "We say from tine to time that "Russia is symmetrical with Europe". But Europe gives us 3-5-years visas, and there is not even an annual visa to Russia. This extension for six months is a good story. It can affect the flow", - she said.

On 13 August, a bill on facilitation procedure for issuing Russian visas to foreign citizens was posted on the portal of legal acts. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation suggests allowing foreign tourists to apply for a visa to Russia without confirmation from the tour operator by the hotel reservation. Among innovations there is also an increase in maximum stay of foreign citizens in Russia from one month to six months.

From October 1, Russian tourists will be able to get visas to Myanmar on arrival at the airports of Naypyidaw, Yangon and Mandalay, reports the Federal agency for tourism on Friday. "The test regime for issuing Russian tourists visas to Myanmar will start on October 1, 2019 and will last until September 30, 2020. A foreign passport is enough to get visas at the international airports of Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw", - the ministry said.
