Cities of the Golden Ring will unite for the development of the tourist route  21.08.2017 07:15

As reported the Interfax correspondent, the heads of eight cities of the Golden Ring tourist route have signed an agreement on intentions to create a Union of the Golden Ring Cities.

The agreement was concluded between the heads of Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Suzdal, Sergiev Posad, Rostov and Pereslavl-Zalessky in the course of celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Golden Ring tourist route held in Yaroslavl.

"The brand is now beginning to blur, and the Union is needed to give new momentum to the development of cities of the tourist route created in the 1970s. The Union will encourage the creation of infrastructure, buildings of hotels and job creation," said the governor of the Yaroslavl region Dmitry Mironov.

He also noted that the creation of the Union should improve the quality of life of the city residents.

According to the Mayor of Yaroslavl Vladimir Sleptsov, the Union will be equal for all participants.

Due to the head of Suzdal Sergey Sakharov, small cities of Russia should be considered as integral objects of the tourist display.

"The tourism product successfully created in Soviet times needs to be renewed, we have high hopes for cooperation," said the head of Kostroma Yury Zhurin while signing the agreement.

D. Mironov initiated the creation of the Union of the Golden Ring Cities at a council meeting with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Central Federal District Alexander Beglov in this summer.
