E-visa regime will work from 2020 on the largest border crossing between Russia and China  05.11.2019 14:31

The simplified procedure for entry into Russia with е-visa valid in the Far East will start working in 2020 at the largest border crossing between Russia and China - (International automobile border crossing point) “Zabaikalsk”. On Tuesday it was announced by the press service of the governor of the Zabaikalye Territory.

Since July 1, the e-visa regime has been operating at the airport Kadala in Chita. In August the Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexander Kozlov announced that the Russian government had approved the extension of e-visas at the border crossing “Zabaikalsk”.

“Zabaikalsk” is the largest land checkpoint between Russia and China, which combines road and rail crossings. Earlier, the head of the regional tourism department, Valentin Anikev told TASS that the three key checkpoints in the Trans-Baikal Territory - the airport Kadala in Chita, as well as international automobile border crossing point and railway crossing near the border village of Zabaikalsk are equipped with the necessary equipment for receiving citizens with e-visas.

The federal law according to which citizens of 18 countries received the right to enter Russia with e-visa began to work in the Far East in August 2017. More than 1 thousand foreigners have already taken advantage to come to Zabaikalye with e-visa.
