Interior Ministry reminded that visa-free entry to Russia for 2018 World Cup guests will end on December 31  29.12.2018 13:29

From January 1, fans of the 2018 World Cup will no longer be able to enter the Russian Federation without a visa using a Fan ID, the press center of the Russian Interior Ministry told Interfax on Thursday.

"In accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation foreign citizens who visited the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches as spectators and who have Fan IDs will be able to enter and leave the Russian Federation visa-free only until December 31, 2018," the Ministry said.

The Interior Ministry noted that foreigners who did not leave the Russian Federation within the period established by law will become violators of immigration laws. "This entails bringing to administrative responsibility including the imposition of punishment in the form of administrative expulsion," the press center reported.

"In order to avoid negative consequences providing for restrictions on entry into the country, this category of foreign citizens must leave the territory of the Russian Federation until December 31, 2018," the Ministry added.
