Mexico and Russia are ready to discuss visa abolition  09.06.2018 11:34

As announced the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Mexico and Russia are ready to discuss the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of both countries. This statement was made at a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Union (Mexico) Edgar Romo Garcia within the framework of the international forum “Development of Parliamentarism”.

"Nowadays, the issue of introducing a visa-free travel for citizens of our countries becomes especially important. Russia has signed a similar agreement with almost all countries of Latin America. It would be extremely important for us to discuss this issue, taking into account the effectiveness of our trade and economic relations. This will contribute to the development of relations between our peoples and our countries," said Mr. Volodin.

The head of the Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Union noted that the country is ready to discuss this issue and hopes to abandon unnecessary bureaucratic procedures.  "We are ready for the dialogue, I can say this from both the ambassador and authorities' side. It would be interesting to exchange views on problems in our commercial relations and to establish a trade and tourism exchange without having these bureaucratic delays that appear on our way," said Edgar Romo Garcia.

The International Forum “Development of Parliamentarism” took place in Moscow on 4-5 June 2018. More than 500 international participants, parliamentarians and experts from 96 countries took part in the Forum.
