Myanmar introduces visas for Russians on arrival  12.08.2019 16:15

From October 1, Russian tourists will be able to get visas to Myanmar on arrival at the airports of Naypyidaw, Yangon and Mandalay, reports the Federal agency for tourism on Friday. "The test regime for issuing Russian tourists visas to Myanmar will start on October 1, 2019 and will last until September 30, 2020. A foreign passport is enough to get visas at the international airports of Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw", - the ministry said.

The cost of a visa will be 50 dollars. It will be valid for 30 days without the possibility of extension. The purpose of the trip can be tourist.

At the same time, the Federal agency for tourism notes that the migration police has a right to refuse Russian citizens to enter to the country. Russians can leave Myanmar through any international airport checkpoint.

Myanmar (former Burma) is a multinational state in Southeast Asia bordering India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand. Yangon (formerly Rangoon), the largest city in the country, is famous for its markets, parks and lakes, and the 6th century gilded Shuedagaun pagoda, where Buddhist objects are kept.
