Russia and Bulgaria have signed joint action program on tourism  11.03.2019 13:00

Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova have signed a program of joint actions in the field of tourism for 2019-2021, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation informs.

"The parties consolidated their intentions to increase the tourist flow between the countries, to realize joint investment projects and to develop innovations in the field of tourism, protection of the rights and safety of tourists, to promote relations between regional tourism organizations and other structures in the field of tourism of both countries," - the report says.

In the frame of international organizations the parties Russia and Bulgaria will jointly promote cooperation in the Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organization and the Working Group on Cooperation in the field of tourism of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

The documents were signed following the results of the Russian-Bulgarian negotiations in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

In 2018, 9 million foreign tourists visited Bulgaria, including 511 thousand Russian tourists. Compared to 2017, the flow of tourists decreased by 15%.
