Russia and Cuba have simplified visa regime  04.06.2018 13:15

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Cuban Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Economy and Planning Ricardo Cabrisas signed an agreement on simplifying visa regime between the countries. The agreement provides for a visa-free stay for citizens of the two countries up to 90 days.

Before the beginning of the bilateral meeting, Lavrov and Cabrisas signed an agreement on the conditions for denial of visa formalities for the mutual visits of Russian and Cuban citizens, and also signed a document on the expansion of cultural cooperation between the countries.

During the talks, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that this year is "very significant" for bilateral relations considering the change of leadership in Cuba and the re-election of Vladimir Putin.

"Perhaps today we can talk about how to ensure the continuity of our friendly, strategic, partnership ties", -  Lavrov said at the beginning of the meeting.

In his turn, Cabrisas noted that he plans to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and also talked about his meeting with the leadership of the Russian companies that work with Cuba and about his plans to meet with the head of the Russian Ministry of Energy.
