Russia and India intend to continue to work on visa facilitation between the two countries, according to a joint statement of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"The parties welcomed the positive development of the process of visa formalities simplification, in particular, the extension of the validity period of electronic visas up to one year, including for the Russian citizens going to India for business and tourism purposes, as well as the introduction of free electronic visas for the Indian citizens to visit the Kaliningrad region and Vladivostok. The parties expressed their intention to continue to work on the facilitation of the visa regime", - the document says.

It is noted that the parties have agreed to continue working on the cooperation in the field of tourism.
