Russia will open a new border crossing point with China  15.02.2019 16:39

The Russian government approved the creation of the Kani-Kurgan-Heihe automobile checkpoint on the Russian-Chinese border in the Amur Region which will be open by 2020 after construction of the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe bridge. The relevant order of the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday.

According to the report posted on the government’s website, the deadline for putting the border crossing into operation "will be synchronized with the completion date of the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe border bridge construction by 2020."

As noted, the opening of the Kani-Kurgan border crossing would promote the development of international cooperation and trade between Russia and China.

It is assumed that the capacity of the border crossing will be up to 630 trucks, 164 buses, 68 cars and about 5.5 thousand people per day. As reported, the checkpoint will be available around the clock.
