Popular island province abolished visas for travelers from 60 countries.

From May 1, Russian tourists can go to the Chinese island Hainan without a visa. Popular among travelers the Chinese island province introduces a visa-free regime for representatives of 59 countries around the world.

As reported the Xinhua news agency quoting the State Migration Board of China, visa-free entry will concern groups of tourists and individual travelers who go to the province through the travel agencies. Besides the Russians, visa-free entry for trips to the island is stipulated for citizens of France, Germany, Italy, Greece, the United States and British people.

It is noted that this step is aimed at "deepening the policy of reform and openness of Hainan to the outside world."

The governor of Hainan province, Shen Xiaoming previously said that Russia is the largest source of tourism in the region. Last year 284 thousand Russian tourists visited Hainan. Currently direct flights from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and Ulan-Ude arrive to Sanya.
