The Olympics in Sochi led to the growth of domestic tourism, the 2018 World Cup will allow to increase the entrance tourist flow, said the president of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Sergey Shpilko.

"The Olympics in Sochi gave us an internal package tour. The splash of the hotel building in many cities has happened because of the 2018 World Cup. Shpilko stressed that the efficiency of international championships was different. "It happens differently in different cities and different countries. There are positive and negative examples. I think the 2018 World Cup will be successful from the point of view of tourism. It is impossible to invent a better presentation of the country as a tourist destination. It will be a great investment for years that will influence the development of the market", - the expert added.

The World Cup will be held in Russia from the 14th of June to the 15th of July 2018. Matches of the main football tournament of the planet will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Sochi. The main hubs for the reception of foreign fans in the championship days will be Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan. This is due to logistics and the availability of placements.
