The agreement on mutual visa regime between Moscow and Minsk will be concluded in 2017  30.06.2017 09:00

As announced the Russian Ambassador to Minsk Alexander Surikov during the interview with Belarus-1 channel aired on Sunday, Belarus and Russia will prepare an intergovernmental agreement on the introduction of mutual visa regime by the end of 2017. “We are now working on the next stage of the document on mutual visa regime (...) I suppose that this intergovernmental agreement will be ready by the end of this year,” A. Surikov said.

The Russian Ambassador explained that the decision to transfer flights to and from Belarus to international sectors at Russian airports was taken in order to fight the terrorist threat appeared due to the Belarus' introduction of a five-day visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries.

“Security services suppose that citizens of third countries may enter Russia through this free border as well as enter Belarus from the other side and cause troubles,” A. Surikov noted.
