The bill on mandatory fingerprinting of foreigners entering the Russian Federation has been submitted to the State Duma  23.06.2017 16:00

As noted the Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Gorovoy, the draft federal law on mandatory fingerprinting of all foreign nationals entering the Russian Federation has been submitted to the State Duma.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs introduced a draft federal law after the adoption of which (and I would ask the senators to support it) all foreign nationals (including citizens of the Eurasian Union) crossing the Russian border with any purpose of visit will be fingerprinted and photographed upon registration either at the address of the place of residence or at the address of their place of stay in the country,” A. Gorovoy announced on Tuesday in the Federation Council.

He noted that only last year, the fingerprint system helped to identify 26,000 citizens of Central Asian countries who tried to enter Russia using fake documents.

"We did not feel any rejection here and will continue this work," A. Gorovoy noted.
