The health resorts of Krasnodar Krai began to charge the resort fee  16.07.2018 13:17

On Monday hotels and sanatoriums of five municipal entities of the territory of Krasnodar krai began to charge a resort fee from tourists - 10 rubles per person per day, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev told journalists.

"The resort fee is 10 rubles per day for guests - this year we set a minimum level. Hotels and sanatoriums will charge it", - the head of the region said.

Kondratyev reminded that residents of Kuban would not pay a resort fee.

"Besides, 19 privileged categories of citizens are free from the fee: they are poor, disabled, participants of the Second World War, veterans of military operations", - he stressed.

Funds collected from the tourists will be sent to the budgets of municipalities, said Kondratyev. The Resort Infrastructure Development Fund and the Public Council Fund established in the region will watch the target spending of funds.

"Money will be transferred to the municipalities where they were collected. I would stress that the resort fee will solve the problems of the resort industry. The funds will be used only for the development of tourist infrastructure: landscaping of parks, squares and beaches. The resort towns and regions prepare their proposals for the development of funds", - said the governor.

In 2018 it is expected  the rate will be about 70 million rubles.

"It is, of course, a small sum, but it will also help to support the resort facilities in good condition. We begin the experiment only from the middle of summer. Next year, the sum will be more than this year", - the head of the region stressed.

Earlier it was reported that since the 16th of July 2018 the resort fee is introduced in the territory of five municipalities of Krasnodar region: in Anapa, Gelendzhik, Goryachy Klyuch, Sochi and in Tuapse.
