Visit Russia national tourist office was opened on March 7 in Berlin (Germany).

The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Federal Republic of Germany Sergei Nechaev as well as official representatives of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The new office in Berlin will organize the promotion of Russian tourism products in the German tourist market. Representatives of the Berlin office will carry out marketing and events in Germany as well as distribute current information on Russia as a destination for recreation and travel to the German audience.
The Berlin office will interact with the consumer segment and develop cooperation with the German tour operator community by promoting the growth of sales of tours to the Russian Federation.

The work of the office will be built on new principles using key performance indicators.

Russia can offer German tourists a wide range of leisure options for any taste and budget. The country provides opportunities for cultural, cognitive, active and recreational, rural and gastronomic, eco-and ethno, cruise and arctic, event and business tourism. In recent years, there have been significant positive changes in the infrastructure and services for tourists, the quality of tourist products and the comfort of the tourist environment in the Russian Federation. In June-July this year, Russia will host the FIFA 2018 World Cup. German team will play in Moscow, Kazan and Sochi.

"The opening of the Visit Russia office in Berlin is a new stage of Russia's marketing activity in the European tourist markets and the beginning of the creation of an updated network of national tourist offices under a new brand and a fundamentally new approach to their activities. It is assumed that the Visit Russia office in Berlin will satisfy the interest of residents of European countries to rest in Russia," said the Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov.

Visit Russia offices in Leipzig, Munich, Riga (Latvia), Vilnius and Klaipeda (Lithuania), Tallinn and Tartu (Estonia), Istanbul and Antalya (Turkey), Prague and Brno (Czech Republic) started their work simultaneously with the Berlin office.

In total, 46 national tourist offices are planned to be opened in 21 countries in 2018.
