Volodin proposed to remove visa barriers for tours between India and Russia  17.12.2018 15:07

The State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin considers it necessary to remove administrative difficulties in obtaining Russian and Indian visas for mutual tourist trips. "The number of tourists coming from Russia to India is growing as well as the number of tourists entering Moscow, but this is not the number that could come if we create more comfortable conditions and reduce delays during visa processing, let's also think about it,” V. Volodin said during a meeting with the Vice-President, the Chairman of the Council of States of the Parliament of India, Venkaiah Naidu.

According to him, a large number of students from India are studying in Russia, 90% of them are medical students.

V.Volodin also invited Venkaiah Naidu to visit Russia. “We are waiting for you in Moscow and will continue this dialogue in Russia,” V. Volodin added.

On Monday, V. Volodin met with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. “Vyacheslav Volodin conveyed greetings from the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting noted the dynamic development of Russian-Indian cooperation, including inter-parliamentary cooperation,” the State Duma’s press service reported.
